Happy World Bee Day
And the unique experience of Generation Jones.
The art prompts for Wednesday can be difficult. I tried “dressed like a wasp on Star Trek, smoking a pink cigar.”
Why? Well, let’s see.
Removed from the James Bond piece, about the cigarette that shot bullets:
I’m surprised they weren’t made for general sale. Oh, there would’ve been stories in Life magazine calling for restrictions after the 100th person that year was shot by someone mishandling a cigarette-with-a-bullet, calls for sensible restrictions - we’re just saying that perhaps they should come with a label telling people not to point them at anyone. Meanwhile all the kids would be buying candy cigarettes and pretending to shoot their friend.
I am old enough to remember candy cigarettes, since I am Generation Jones. Are you familiar with the term? I’d heard it before, but read an X thread the other day that summed up quite nicely the particular characteristics of the Jonesians. We came of age in the analog era and transitioned with ease to the digital era.
