I detect a conspiracy here. I've never heard of a Trylon or Perisphere before. And now I discover there's a Trylon Cinema in south Minneapolis.

And they just so happen to have a blog called... Perisphere.

Deep and dark.

- ok, actually lots of fun as always. Thanks much!

Enjoyed the short film. Hmm, how about another world's fair, this time on the other coast in 3 years. Yes, the 2028 Olympics in LA LA land. What exhibits would capture the minds of the world as they gaze into a glorious future?

Breaking apart curbs to create rocks to chunk, tear gas toss in a marijuana field, or just dodging hordes of homeless to reach the next exhibit. Great opportunities for souvenirs.

There was a real effort to get the expo to the US recently but it didn’t happen.

I think in a lot of ways we do live in the future envisioned there. Ultimately there's a huge gulf between how it's envisioned by a small team putting together a fair to show what the best bits can be and how it's actually built by humanity over time.
